((ooc: I was trying to hint, but I'll be blunt - can I have a quick physical description of the bot here please? It will most definitely help my scheme. I mean, really, I can't exactly send a small motor-scooter style mech on a flight and destruction mission, but at the same time, I can't send a large and bulky mech on a spying mission... So... I'm kind of stuck between a rock and a hard place, buying time...))

OOC: I know you were, I'm getting to it! I've already told you he's up for killing things and he's got a gun. ... okay, yeah, that's not a lot. The bot in front of him looked to be some sort of advanced hovercraft, with blades attatched to his back. Propellers perhaps? If they were, their size suggested this bot might well be able to fly.

SkyWarp looked at the screen as the padlock appeared and seemed confused about this Autobot. Was this voice really an Autobot or the computer itself? SkyWarp was curious. "Why not? And what are you? A computer or an Autobot?" SkyWarp asked as he glanced to Thundercracker. To SkyWarp this day just got weirder and weirder...

StarScream This was a mech that could prove well... He might need to be broken in, but he seemed willing to the challenge. There were, of course, a few key things that he would have to consider first that would affect his use in his future plot. Possibly a flier, this mech would make a good combatant... Assuming he knew how to use his gun. He'd be treated at grunt level then, until he proved himself better.
Ha... A mech loyal to him first? Definitely useful. Information was key, though. Looking over the file that he had been holding to look the mech in the face, he turned to interrogation mode. Well, not full on interrogation - this was hardly the place for that. Just a few questions. Brushing off the mech's questions until his own were answered, Starscream began. "I'm going to need something to call you by... For some reason, 'mech' doesn't seem like something I'd want to shout to you in a group." Waiting for a moment to let each phrase stand alone - but not long enough to give him time to decide whether or not to respond. "Also - do they trust you, mech?" Putting the file down on top of the cabinet, he stalked a bit closer to him, giving him the attention to let him know that he was being scrutinized. "Are you willing to share information? Will you help us capture this city, help us push the fools out?"
W
ith an intense gaze, trying to make the maximum tension he could in the situation, Starscream looked directly in the mech's optics. This was, after all, the first test of many. He had to see if the mech shrank back, flinched even the slightest, if he hesitated too much... "Will you follow my every order, and those of your superiors, even if your 'better judgment' says otherwise, and contribute everything you can to the Decepticon army?" Technically, he probably should have said 'Megatron's' every order... But he was the air commander, so he could probably get away with that. And he added 'those of your superior's', so that added a bit more wiggle room. Yes, this was the first test of several yet to come. [/blockquote]

??: I am all around you, Decepticon. That is all you need to know. Leave, now! Thundercracker glanced around the room, blasters at the ready. Cameras shifted here and there. Thundercracker: You are the computer, aren't you? ??: Affirmative. Now leave! I refuse to allow you acces to this terminal because, to answer your question Decepticon, it is none of your concern. You will learn nothing here.
The bot seemed to think for a moment, then he returned Starscream's gaze. Spinister: My name is Spinister, and yes, they trust me implicitly. Naturally, everything they know is also yours to know. Not that they'd told him a heck of a lot, of course, he was only a trooper. Failing to tell Starscream that couldn't hurt, he told himself. Starscream seemed to advance upon him as he spoke, but he forced himself to stand his ground. Spinister: And I will follow your orders without question, Air Commander. Though he had no intention of endangering his own life. Still, he was determined to be on the winning side of the war. He kept himself from looking back to the file.

StarScream Cracking a wide smile of sorts - with the hint of smirk perpetually present, of course - Starscream allowed the mech a bit more space. Of course he was still suspicious. Everything was a mind game. With one last glance at the mech, Starscream decided his first assignment to the lone bot.
"Alright then, Spinister. Then you will help us finish this siege, after which point we will decide precisely what to do. At the moment, it seems as though my allies in action are taking a bit longer exploring and securing the building than I'd like... Find them, and help them. You'll know them when you see them; they're hard to miss."
He kept his voice a mite more upbeat while saying this, trying to inflict into Spinister the sense of acceptance that he certainly didn't yet feel; however, this gradually turned into a bit more of an impatient snarl. This snarl could be taken several ways - a sense of contempt for his trine - though it certainly wasn't that, right? - an ounce of impatience, or a silent promise. Of course, the meaning was open for interpretation. Turning, but keeping a little bit of his attention just barely focused on the motion of this mech - did he hesitate, for example? - he turned most of his attention on finding useful information. Weak points in the city, targets, or other such examples only being a handful of the things he was looking for. Of course, his slight impatience at the other group was nagging at his mind as well. Upon finishing a minute or so of searching (assuming there was no interruption), he would expect them back, or at least comming a report. It shouldn't take them that long, unless they'd engaged - as he had specifically ordered them not to... [/blockquote]

In spite of himself, Spinister did indeed hesitate. It wasn't that he had any qualms about Starscream's orders (the Autobots in this base were irrelevant, and they'd hardly made any effort to engratiate themselves with him), but that the file he'd wanted to salvage from this building was sitting on top of the cabinet between him and Starscream. If he took it, Starscream would certainly be suspicious and almost certainly demand it back. And even if he took it without Starscream noticing, the Air Commander would likely realise the file was gone, and suspect Spinister. Undoubtedly, the file was important, but it was irrelevant if he could not gain a place within the Decepticons. And so he decided to comply. Spinister: Very well sir. He turned to go, then stopped. He turned around. Spinister: They're not dim enough to shoot me, are they?

StarScream His near-full attention back on the reading, he let out an... Amused snort, of sorts, the slightest shake of his head, barely visible, as the question brought an unfortunate bought of doubt to his mind. "Sometimes I wonder that myself, Spinister. Watch the purple one, he's not as swift. But... Here." Starscream glanced up for a second, aiming and shooting at the leg of the bot statue, hoping to detach a semi-recognizable part that at least one of the two would notice.
"Try taking a recognizable piece of that poor fellow there. They've seen 'im, and if you got through here, that means you got through me. They'll either see you as a sincere threat... Or they'll be willing to listen to you for a moment. That is your chance. Give or take my suggestion as you will. Either way, you're chancing it."
He could probably just send a message to them, but if Spinister didn't tell him that, or ask him to, then he knew a bit more about the type of mech he had in front of him. He was probably being a bit cruel at this point. Huh. Maybe he should cut the guy a break... But then again, he was the Aerial Commander of the Decepticon Army. Fat chance at Mercy. Despite that reasoning, he opened a comm link to Skywarp, speaking quickly. "I'm sending up somebody to assist you. Try not to kill him, he may prove useful." And then went back to reading, only keeping vague sensors behind him to make sure Spinister didn't try to pull something. And to see if he actually did as Starscream suggested. If this all worked out, Spinister may yet prove useful. If not... Well, Megatron wouldn't be hearing of it, that's for sure. Marginally for sure. Others weren't trustworthy. Spinister flinched slightly as Starscream's blast shattered the Autobot's leg. Most of it detached and fell to the floor, but enough remained to keep him upright. Spinister bent to retrieve the large piece. As he did so he feigned a loss of balance. He grabbed at the filing cabinet, careful to knock the file from its top. He straightened up, turned, and nodded to Starscream. Spinister: I hope for their sake that they're willing to listen. He strode to the window, leapt through it with his arms outstretched, and transformed, shooting out into the sky, praying that Starscream ignored the fallen file.

StarScream He let out a bit of a sigh, wondering, very briefly, if mech had intentionally tripped, before shaking his head, deciding that such a small motion was too frivolous to mark as potentially mutinous behavior. When Spinister was gone, he reached down to pick up the file, reading it now, hopefully in peace. He was suspicious of the mech's attentions, but right now he just wanted to get this raid over with.
He still kept alert to his surroundings, however. If one bot could get past the tower raid, others could as well, and that meant there might be some other interesting encounters... The aerial commander flexed his wings a bit at the thought, growling somewhat under his breath, before turning back to the information in his hand. Like they would rather face him than live! Ha!

The file contained several articles: blueprints for a spheroid device, a series of pictures of variuous locations on Cybertron, a tiny disk in a cellophane packet that was too small for Starscream to risk picking up, a similarly minicscule note on a strange yellow material he didn't recognise, and pages upon pages of notes. However, Starscream didn't recognise any of the text in these notes. They were written in strange, angular characters.

It looked as though Starscream was going to be doing some decoding work, and looking in to the mysteries of this file. Now was not the time for that, though; the city was not yet won. However, he had a feeling that this was a find that would be worth the wait... And possibly something that he could use in his favor. Yes, this would do well for him, he thought. There was no need to keep searching; they could do a more thorough search later. He needed to check up on the others; it would do no good if they decided to get themselves killed now. He still needed them... He was the Aerial Commander, after all, and it was hard to be a commander without troops. Aside from that, he preferred to have somebody with him in the case that something should happen. He was no coward, hiding behind his troops; he simply preferred to survive, rather than face rising odds of death.
He tucked the file away carefully, where it would not easily be observed as being on his person, before moving on to see what other objects of interest could be found in this building. However, he did wonder what was taking Sunstorm and Acidstorm so long; it's not like he'd given them a complicated task. He'd told them specifically to avoid confrontation as well - but he knew very well how that order tended to work out from a bit of first hand experience being on the other side of said order. It would be an annoyance to fix it, however, and he would wait until contact was made to do so. Anything sooner would be a bit jumpy; he had full confidence that they could accomplish what they needed to here even with a couple of setbacks.

The two Storms had been spiralling through the streets. While the rest of the Decepticon forces were pummelling the outer levels, the panicked Autobots had been paying little attention, even to the neon-green and yellow seekers. However, they were currently still flying around, unable to locate their leader. Then a craft, carried by a rotary blade, coasted into view...
Having stored the file away, Starscream's comm began to crackle. A rough voice, contrasted by extreme joy, came across the frequencies. Ramjet: Hey, Screamer! The sound of something snapping unpleasantly followed.
