After a huge fall-out between my dad and my grandfather, life will be shaky for the next few days. As such, I may not have the will to come online for extended periods of time. Here's my story:
We had come down to my grandparent's farm over spring break, fully prepared to help out with the work in the greenhouse and around the farm. We brought my puppy, Bolt, with us as well. Now, let's get this straight - after drama with previous dogs and the streets around our house, my family is oober protective of our loving little herding dog.
Gramma and Grampa, however, have a new flock of sheep in the area, which Bolt here, my precious lil' boy, loves to chase around. He got in the pen, though, and wound up cornering one of the little lambs, the one I named Bobbin, and his mother. Now, the other three lambs - including the runt - were safe with the other mother sheep and the Ram. They aren't very important.
My sister, as much as I love the lil' girly, saw that bolt was chasing the two around, and told me to run inside and tell - me being the runner of the family. I did, and Dad came out to punish the dog for his misbehavior. Grampapa came out as well, though. He threatened, in his anger, to shoot the dog if the lamb was hurt in any way.
Arguments broke out. We were pulled out of the greenhouse to pack, get ready to leave. This dog is our family, we weren't going to let him get hurt. I'd hate to let the lamb get hurt, too, but this dog is precious to me. My sister was bawling, and I had managed to retain a fairly calm demeanor. After all, if Grampa wasn't willing to welcome our family and be flexible for us - and yes, the dog IS part of the family - then I saw no reason to treat him fairly.
We got the van packed, took the four wheeler out for a drive, and waited for familial discussions to come to a close. They let us stay, with the dog, but the drama that's going to come from it won't be gone for a while. You may not know this, but I hold a horrible, horrible grudge. I'm not going to give my ex-navy grampapa any room to apologize for a long time, and tension will be tight for a while.
If you have any questions, I'll answer, but my RP muse is pretty shot until RL drama is over.
